5. Social Services and Public Charities
The Thai General Insurance Association performed the following social services and public charities.
5.1 Supporting the Establishment of Insurance Club in Loei Province
Supported the establishment of Insurance Club in Loei Province by giving an amount of 10,000 Baht for
the Club’s project to educate the public on the benefits of insurance and to create public confidence in
the business.
5.2 Supporting the “Safe Sonkran Festival: Zero Death” Project
Donated 100,000 Baht to the No Drunk Driving Foundation to support its “Safe Sonkran Festival: Zero
Death” Project, organized by government and private agencies on May 8, 2012 at the Prem Tinsulanond
Foundation.
5.3 Supporting a Rally to Honor H.M. the King
Supported the car rallies to honor H.M. the King, the Queen and the Crown Prince as follows:
1) Donated 100,000 Baht to support the organizing of a car rally event between Bangkok to Chantaburi
to honor the Crown Prince between July 28-29, 2012.
2) Donated 100,000 Baht to support the organizing of a car rally event from Bangkok to Khao Yai,
Nakhon Ratchasima to commemorate the birthday of H.M. the Queen between September 8-9, 2012.
3) Donated 100,000 Baht to support the organizing of a car rally event between Bangkok-Khon
Kaen-Phu Rau, Loei to honor H.M. the King between December 8-10, 2012.
5.4 Donated Blankets to the People Affected by Cold Weather as Follows:
December 7, 2012 : Chaingrai, 2,000 pieces of blankets worth 320,000 Baht
December 14, 2012 : Chaingmai, 2,000 pieces of blankets worth 320,000 Baht
6. The Working Group on Liberalization of Financial Sector Under ASEAN Service Business
Agreement
6.1 A Consultation Meeting To Follow up on Progress of Financial Sector Liberalization.
The Thai General Insurance Association has sent delegates to attend the following meetings.
(1) Joined a meeting organized by the Department of International Trade Negotiation to discuss an issue
related to the urgency of a law governing service business in preparation for the liberalization of
financial service sector and the extension of right to non-ASEAN countries or Substantive Business
Operation: SBO Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership: TPP and Regional Comprehensive
Economic Partnership: RCEP.
(2) The Thai Chamber of Commerce: Participated in a workshop on “Service Business...The National
Strategy Towards AEC and Beyond”, organized by related government and private agencies and the
publication of the white paper to be used by related government agencies as reference information
and guideline for formulating of an integrated strategy for service business in Thailand.
