5. Project to Consider the Appropriateness of the Stress Test Framework for Non-life Insurance
Business
The Office of Insurance Commission initiated a project to consider the appropriateness of the stress test
framework for non-life insurance business by setting up a joint working group between public sector and private
sector to consider the framework and time frame of the stress test for non-life insurance business. This test is a risk
management tool, necessary for both insurance company and supervisory organization in considering financial
position of a company. On the Association’s side, a technical sub-working group was set up to study and present
technical data to the project’s joint working group.
6. Preparing a Non-life Insurance Accounting Manual
The Account, Finance and Investment Committee, together with Price Waterhouse Coopers ABAS Limited
(PWC), had prepared a Non-life Insurance Accounting Manual to be used by insurance personnel, and conducted
a train-the-trainer course for member companies’ staff.
7. Giving Opinions toward Drafts of OIC’s Declarations and Commandments
The Committee met among the committee and working groups, and joined meeting with the OIC to give
opinions toward the following declaration:
7.1 (Draft) OIC’s Declaration Prescribing Criteria, Method, and Condition in Money Receipt, Money
Payment, Audit and Internal Control of Non-life Insurance Companies
7.2 (Draft) OIC’s Declaration Prescribing Investment and Other Businesses of Non-life Insurance
Companies
7.3 (Draft) Financial Ratios in Early Warning System (EWS) and Measures to Control and Intervene
Insurance Company’s Operation.
