3. Timetable for Submitting Reports to OIC
In response to the changes made by the Office of Insurance Commission on the monthly, quarterly and
yearly submission schedule of financial statements, the Accounting and Finance Committee has prepared
a timetable for submission of all financial reports to the OIC so that the companies can submit the reports on due
dates. The timetable can be downloaded from www.thaigia.com. In “General Insurance Association Activities
News”.
4. Non-life Insurance Accounting Manual
The Committee prepared and published the Non-Life Insurance Accounting Manual to be used as the
guideline and samples of bookkeeping based on the Thai accounting standard and IAS for accountants of non-life
insurance companies and those who are interested in insurance accounting standard. At present, there is
no such manual available for reference. It is expected that the publication will be completed in February 2012.
5. Meetings and Seminars
5.1 A Seminar on TAS 24 (Revised in 2009) Personal Information and Related Parties Disclosures
A seminar on TAS 24 (Revised in 2009) Personal Information and Related Parties Disclosures was
organized on May 24, 2011 at the Federation of Accounting Professions Under the Royal Patronage to provide
understanding on this Thai accounting standard to staff of member companies.
5.2 A Seminar on “RBC According to OIC and Auditing Process”
The Committee and the Insurance Accountants Club organized a seminar on “RBC According to OIC and
Auditing Process” on September 22, 2011 at the Emerald Hotel to promote knowledge and understanding on
Risk-Based Capital framework to staff of member companies.
5.3 A Meeting to Review the Impact of RBC and Assessment of Damages from the Flood
The Accounting and Finance Committee and the Working Group on Claims Reserve organized
a brainstorming meeting to review the impacts of RBC and to assess the damages caused by the floods on
November 21, 2011 at the Federation of the Accounting Professions Under the Royal Patronage. Participants
were representatives from member companies. The Committee has submitted the opinions from the meeting to
the OIC.
5.4 Training on TAS 12: Income Tax
Committee and the Federation of the Accounting Profession Under the Royal Patronage organized
a training course on TAS 12: Income Tax on December 26, 2011 at the Federation of Accounting Profession to
provide understanding on this Thai accounting standard to staff of member companies. The session is counted as
6 hours of professional continuous education.
