IPRB was granted budget for operation from Thai General Insurance Association, which was in accordance
with the proposal of organizational structure and source of budget approved by the Department of Insurance. In
2013, the total operating expenses of IPRB was 12.09 million baht. IPRB had undertaken key activities in 3 areas to
support the Insurance Development Plan II (Year 2010-2014) and the General Insurance Association’s operation as
follows:
1. Development of Insurance Premiums Rating and Insurance Bureau System
(1) Preparing the voluntary motor insurance liberalization plan.
(2) Analyzing surcharge for risk of different classes of motors (Group Rating 1-20).
(3) Preparing data structure, in cooperation with the Office of Insurance Commission and under the
Insurance Bureau System Project, in order to facilitate and smooth the process of insurance data
submission of insurance companies and to maximize the benefit to the industry.
2. Information Service for Members by providing report of insurance business overview, performance
report of property insurance, performance report of compulsory and voluntary motor insurance, as well
as database under the Mapping and Depth of Flooding in the Lower Chao Phraya Basin Project.
3. Improvement of the IT System in cooperation with Thai General Insurance Association
In addition, in 2013, IPRB had participated in knowledge sharing with related organizations aboard by
joining a seminar of insurance ratemaking among 5 countries in Asia; i.e., South Korea, Malaysia, Japan,
Taiwan, and Thailand, in the Insurance Information and Ratemaking Forum of Asia (IIRFA), Japan.

15. Performance Report of the Insurance Member Club
The Insurance Member Club had organized several sports and recreation activities to promote good health
and unity as well as to promote good relationship among members to enhance businesses cooperation as follows:
15.1 Insurance Bowling Tournament

The 7 Insurance Bowling Tournament was held on August 3, 2013 at the S.F. Strike Bowl, The Mall
Ngamwongwan Shopping Center. 102 bowlers joined the tournament.
15.2 Insurance Volleyball Tournament
The 5 Insurance Volleyball Tournament, male and female teams, was held on September 7-8, 2013 at

the Sports Stadium, Kasetsart University (Bang Khen campus). 204 players joined the tournament.
15.3 Insurance Futsal Tournament
The 4 Insurance Futsal Tournament, to win the trophy of the HRH Princess Somsowali, was held on

October 5-6 and 12-13, 2013 at the Sport Center in honor of the 72 Birthday. There were 45 teams

participating in the tournament with 540 players in total.
15.4 7-men Football Tournament
The 4 7-men Football Tournament, male and senior-executive teams, to win the trophy of HRH
th
Princess Somsawali, was held on November 16-17 and 23-24, 2013 at the Dhupateme Royal Thai Air
Force Sports Stadium. There were 38 male teams, 570 players in total, and 15 senior-executive teams,
225 players in total, participating in the tournament. Total number of players was 795 persons.
15.5 Arts and handcrafts training course
An art and handcrafts training course (Class 3), was conducted from February 4 - March 4, 2013 at a
meeting room of Thai General Insurance Association. Classes were held on Tuesday and Thursday,
from 18.00-20.00 hrs. Participants were trained to make golden lucky tree, twine ropes to hold a pot,
and cloth folding.
15.6 Insurance Badminton Tournament

The 6 Insurance Badminton Tournament featuring double male, double female, mixed double, and
double senior male (50 up) was held on March 1, 2014 at the Sports Stadium, Kasetsart University
(Bang Khen campus).
