Activities in 2013

1. Joining the Private Sector Collective Action Coalition against Corruption
Thai General Insurance Association held a MOU signing ceremony for the “Private Sector Collective Action
Coalition against Corruption” between the insurance companies and the Private Sector Collective Action Coalition
against Corruption Council (IOD) in order to manifest the standpoint of being a part of the project to establish a
standard of Transparent business practices. In this occasion, Mr. Pravej Ongartsittigul, Secretary-General of Office
of Insurance Commission, presided over the ceremony, and Dr. Juri Vichit-Vadakan, Vice President of the Council,
together with Dr. Bandit Nijathaworn, member and Secretary of the Council, and Mr. Anon Vangvasu, President of
Thai General Insurance Association, witnessed the ceremony on July 26, 2013 at a meeting room, Advanced
Insurance Institute building, Office of the Insurance Commission.

2. Welcoming a Group of Consultants from World Bank and Officers from the Office of Insurance
Commission
Thai General Insurance Association had welcomed a group of consultants from World Bank, coming to
Thailand to study about the Solvency Modernization and Risk-Based Capital for the Insurance Sector under the
Developments of Insurance Supervision and Examination System and having an objective to study and assess the
potential of the Office of Insurance Commission and Thai insurance market. There were discussions about the
current situation, challenges of the insurance industry, current position of insurance companies after the Risk Based
Capital framework had been implemented, and about the preparedness for the Solvency II. The visit was on Friday
27 , September, 2013 at a meeting room, Thai General Insurance Association.

3. Attending the 27 East Asian Insurance Congress (EAIC) Executive Board Meeting
Thai General Insurance Association, represented by Mr. Arnon Opaspimoltum, Vice President of the
Association, had attended the 27 East Asian Insurance Congress (EAIC) Executive Board Meeting during

October 31 - November 2, 2013 in Taipei, Taiwan.

4. Attending the 38 ASEAN Insurance Council Meeting

Thai General Insurance Association, represented by Mr. Anon Vangvasu, President of the Association,
together with Mr. Arnon Opaspimoltum, Vice President of the Association, Mr. Nopadol Santipakorn, Secretary
General of the Association, and Mr. Thanad Jeerachaipaisarn, Executive Director of the Association, had attended

the 38 ASEAN Insurance Council Meeting during December 4-6, 2013 in Danang, Vietnam.

5. Conducting a Field Survey for a Research on Framework and Policy Proposal for the Development
of Motor Insurance System under the Protection for Motor Vehicle Victims Act B.E. 2535
Thai General Insurance Association, in cooperation with the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) and
Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), had conducted a field survey for a research on Framework and
Policy Proposal for the Development of Motor Insurance System under the Protection for Motor Vehicle Victims
Act B.E. 2535, by studying and collecting motor insurance data in South Korea during November 24-26, 2013, in
Hong Kong during November 27-29, 2013, in Malaysia during December 15-18, 2013, and in The Philippines during
January 15-16, 2014. In this regard, Mr. Nopadol Santipakorn, Secretary General of the Association, together with
Dr. Chutatong Charumilind, Secretary General of the Insurance Premium Rating Bureau, and Ms. Kalaya Joukhom,
Assistant Executive Director-Technical of the Association, had joined the field survey.
