- Supporting public policy by working hand-in-hand with the Department of Agricultural
Extension, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Bank for Agriculture and
Agricultural Co-operatives, the Fiscal Policy Office, Ministry of Finance, and the Office of
Insurance Commission, together with 7 member companies, to undertake a “Project of
Major Rice Insurance for Crop Year 2015.” The project was used as a risk management tool
to combat with natural perils by providing insurance coverage to rice farmers nationwide
and lessening budget burden usually bared by the government;
- Organizing an Insurance and Logistics Academic Field Trip (Bangkok – Huay Sai – Bo Ten
Economic Zone – Chiang Rai) to survey and study the transport route in preparation for a
cross-border transport;
- Organizing a workshop in “Financial Statements Preparation and Disclosure of Information
under the International Financial Reporting Standard on Insurance Contract (IFRS 4)” to
prepare member companies for the IFRS 4;
- Conducting a workshop to enhance knowledge and understanding in Anti-money
Laundering and Combating with Financing Terrorism (AML/CFT) laws to member
companies and make them ready for inspection by the Anti-Money Laundering Office;
- Holding a seminar in Debt Collection Act B.E. 2558 to prepare member companies for a
compliance to the aforementioned law in non-life insurance operations;
- Conducting a training course in Accident Inspection for motor surveyors of insurance
companies to develop skill, knowledge and understanding in motor insurance to motor
surveyors, aiming to enhance their knowledge and expecting them to apply what had
learned in class to real life, and to promote creditability and good image of insurance
business;
- Cooperating with the Allianz General Laos (AGL) to design a collaboration in providing
services in accident survey, claim management, and underwriting for cross-border motor
insurance to support the commencement of AEC; and
- Cooperating with the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency
(Public Organization) or GISTDA in developing Flood Risk Assessment Mapping (FRAM)
to be used in non-life insurance underwriting.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all related organizations both
in public sector and private sector and all member companies for great contributions and
cooperation that made the Association’s operations and activities successful. Also, I would
like to thank members of the Board of Directors and all Committees as well as the staff of Thai
General Insurance Association for the strong collective efforts, so we were able to implement
and undertake all activities successfully and also to build confidence and gain acceptance
from the Thai society so far.
