8. The Third Party Liability Insurance for Damages Caused by Towing or a tender boat.
                     In response to an Order No. 717/2554 of the Harbor Department to appoint a working group, comprising
               representatives from the Office of Insurance Commission, the General Insurance Association and the Harbor
               Department to draft a measure, requiring the operators of towing and tender boats to have the third party and
               environmental liability insurance protection, the Committee has set up a working group to conduct a study and to
               draft the third party liability insurance policy for the third party, affected by the towing and tender boats. The

               policy provide protection over life, physical body and property of a third person and has set the minimum and
               maximum premium rate. The policy drafting is based on information taken from 1,004 towing boats and 2,728
               tender boats.


               9. Main Rice Crop Insurance Project 2011
                     The General Insurance Association has completed the drafting of the Main Rice Crop Insurance Policy
               (Micro Insurance) that provides protection to losses and damages caused by flood or heavy rainstorm, draught,
               windstorm or typhoon, coldness, frost, hail and fire, according to the announcement of calamity by the

               Department of Catastrophe Prevention and Mitigation, the Ministry of Interior. The wording of this policy has been
               approved by the Office of Insurance Commission. The coverage under this policy is divided into 2 phases, 1) the
               first 60 days, starting from the growing date, the compensation amount will be 606 Baht per Rai, 2) a period,
               starting from the 61  day until the last day of harvesting, the compensation amount will be 1,400 Baht per Rai. The

               premium rate is 129.47 Baht per Rai, including VAT and duty stamp. The premium shall be collected by the Bank
               for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives who will also provide 10 Baht subsidy per Rai. This scheme will be
               reinsured by foreign reinsures who are the experts in crop insurance and the distribution of risks shall be based
               on insurance principle.  Followings are the results of the scheme.
                     -  Number of insured farmers               56,780   cases
                     -  Total insured area                 1,057,110.75   Rais
                     -  Total amount of sum-insured     1,479,955,050.00  Baht
                     -  Total amount of premium           136,304,041.85  Baht
