3. The Development of E-Claim System
The Office of Insurance Commission has appointed a working group to develop the E-Claim system. The
group members comprises representatives from many agencies such as the Private Hospital Association, the
Ministry of Public Health, the Medical Department, the National Health Security Office and the Motor Insurance
Committee of the General Insurance Association. The main objectives of this working group is to develop the
reimbursement system for the cost of hospital treatment in full amount of coverage of motor insurance. In an effort
to publicize the project to the related parties, the OIC and the Motor Insurance Committee have explained the
criteria and methods which have been developed or improved to member companies. It is expected once the
E-Claim system has been fully developed and the related parties have good understanding of the system, it will
help the insured receive full benefit while the insurance business shall have a good system to audit claim
payments and services to the insured. It is a good way to promote good image of the industry.
4. Joining the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Project to Promote Traffic Discipline
The Committee assigned representatives to participate in the activities, organized by the Bangkok
Metropolitan Administration under the “Million Hearts for Traffic Discipline” project to commemorate the 84 th
birthday of H.M. the King on December 5, 2011. The objective of the event was to get all parties in the society to
promote traffic discipline together. The General Insurance Association also asked member companies to attach
“Traffic Discipline Determination Card” in the insurance policy package.
5. Exhibition Booth at the “First Car” Event
The Committee invited member companies to set up booths at the “First Car” Event, organized between
October 11-14, 2011 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre Bang Na by the Excise Department,
the Ministry of Finance. A total of 10 member companies set up booths in the finance and insurance services
area.
