5. Field Trips and Seminar
5.1 Seminar on Marine Cargo Claims Recovery
The Committee and the Dolphin Claims Services (Singapore) Pte Ltd., jointly organized a seminar on
Marine Cargo Claims Recovery on June 14, 2011 at the Landmark Hotel to provide knowledge and understanding
on claims recovery from the parties that caused damaged to the cargo and are liable to staff of member
companies. The seminar also include knowledge on limitation of liability and laws related to taking a recourse
from the party who may be liable which are useful for claims staff.
5.2 A trip to visit the NETbay Co., Ltd.
Since the use of electronic technology to support business operation is becoming popular in Thailand, on
June 20, 2011, the Committee organized a trip to visit the NETbay Co., Ltd., an independent organization,
engaging in the business of providing e-Logistic Gateway system to transmit cargo information. In the future,
the company has a plan to provide an e-Licensing service to send license and other information to government
agencies and to connect with import and export service businesses. The company also provides e-Custom
system.
5.3 A seminar on A Sub-Regional Agreement on Insurance and A Brainstorming Session on the drafted
Clause on Special Condition for Extension of Protection Coverage for Logistic Operators under the Transporter’s
Liability Policy.
The above seminar was organized on August 9, 2011 at the Swissotel Le Concorde, Ratchadapisek Road.
5.4 A Seminar on Incoterms and Interesting Judgments of the Supreme Court
The Marine Insurance and Logistics Committee organized a seminar on “Incoterms and Interesting
Judgments of the Supreme Court” on September 21, 2011 at the Emerald Hotel, Ratchadapisek Rd. The seminar
was organized to provide knowledge on international trade agreements (Incoterms 2000 and 2010) which include
laws and judgments related to marine and logistics insurance. The seminar also included workshops and case
study to provide the opportunity for the participants to learn and have hand-on experience on marine and logistics
insurance cases.
