Report of the Miscellaneous, Accident and

            Health Insurance Committee

            1. Cancellation of Accident and Health Insurance Database Program
The committee has canceled the accident and health insurance database program after being found that
members failed to supply data to the program on a regular basis, causing the amount of usage to drop. The
cancellation became effective on April 30, 2012, henceforth.

            2. Definition of Critical Illness
The Insurance Commissioner has approved the definition of 50 types of critical illness proposed by the
Committee and classified by coverage and exclusion to be used as standard definitions by life and general insurance
companies under their policies. However, the companies are still required to seek for approval through existing
system and if the request is outside of the laid out framework, it must be certified by an expert doctor.

            3. Rice Pledging Scheme
The Committee has completed the development of main crop rice insurance policy to support the

government’s policy. In the second year of the scheme, the National Catastrophe Insurance Fund under the
enactment of law for catastrophe insurance, B.E. 2555 is one of the co-insurers. The government shall subsidise
50% of the 120 Baht per Rai premium while the farmer shall pay the rest 50%. The protection covers losses from
flood, drought, windstorm, frost, hail and fire. The payout for these types of losses is 1,111 Baht per Rai while the
payout for losses from pests or diseases is 555 Baht per Rai.
Meanwhile, the Fiscal Policy Office also has a plan to implement second crop rice insurance scheme for the
production year of 2012. The conditions and premium rate are the same as those of the main crop rice insurance.

            4. Liability Insurance According to Land Transport of Dangerous Substance Law
The Committee and the Department of Industrial Works have jointly developed 2 types of liability insurance
policies under the land transport of dangerous substance law, i.e. protection for third party against losses from

leakage, explosion, all cases of ignition during transportation in which costs for elimination, removal, treatment, loss
mitigation, rehabilitation and losses to environment, animals, plants, natural resources, national properties or
