Report of the Motor Insurance Committee
1. “Hit and Separate” Project
The Committee established a “Hit and Separate” project, aiming to facilitate insureds when having a car
accident on the road and to lessen traffic problems. The project was launched on June 1, 2013. The Committee had
generated and distributed the “Hit and Separate” project stickers or K-lettered stickers. In addition, a training
course on communication skill was held for call centers in order to make the same understanding of the project, so
the call centers could communicate to the insureds clearly and accurately. From the feedback of project
implementation, the Committee found that most insureds encountered an inconvenience in using the K-lettered
sticker and the “Hit-and-Separate” document because they were generated in separated pieces. To cope with this
problem, the Committee modified the forms of the K-lettered sticker and the “Hit-and-Separate” document to
resemble the sign showing payment of car tax by pulling them together into one document and printing the direc-
tions of use thereon clearly.
2. Signing the Knock-for-Knock Agreement for the Voluntary Motor Insurance (Class 1) Applicable
to All Kinds of Automobiles
The Committee prepared a Knock-for-Knock Agreement for the voluntary motor insurance (Class 1) applicable
to all kinds of automobiles and invited member companies to sign on. There were 11 member companies signing
on the Agreement and the signing ceremony was held on June 23, 2014 at the Thai General Insurance Association,
presided and witnessed by the President of Thai General Insurance Association.
3. Setting up a Motor Underwriting Club
Thai General Insurance Association set up a Motor Underwriting Club, aiming to promote and support good
relationships; to exchange and disseminate knowledge, experiences, and opinions among members and between
outsiders in an academic way; and to be a center in disseminating know-how, techniques, and strategies relating
to motor underwriting. An election for the Club’s committee was held on August 5, 2014. Mr. Wallop Jitsanong from
the Union Prospers Insurance Public Company Limited was elected chairman of the Club.
4. Joining a Meeting between Thailand and Lao P.D.R. to Discuss about Insurance Concerns
The Committee, together with Office of Insurance Commission, the Road Accident Victims Protection
Company Limited (acting as a National Bureau of Insurance of Thailand) and the National Bureau of Lao P.D.R. had
held a meeting to discuss about insurance concerns between Thailand and Lao P.D.R. during November 10-11,
2014 at Namkhong Riverside Hotel, Chiang Khong, Chiang Rai (Thai-Lao 4 Friendship Checkpoint Chian
th
Khong-Huay Sai). Issues discussed included the drafted MOU on Claim Management (Thai GIA-AGL), development
of Blue Card Sticker and Thailand-Lao P.D.R. Cross-border Motor Insurance Policy, and claim management service
for voluntary motor insurance.
