Performance Report of the Accident and Health Insurance
               Committee

               1. Travel Accident Insurance Policy for Tourism Business and Guide (File and Use)
The Committee has revised Travel Accident Insurance policy for Tourism Business and Guide (File and
Use) by adjusting the policy structure to be consistent with the Personal Accident Insurance policy (File and
Use). In addition, the Committed has developed endorsements to limit insurer’s liability in relation to extreme
sports and terrorism. For issue in the Definitions section of the policy, where “Disability” was not addressed,
but “Total Permanent Disability” was, which has not conformed to the rules of the Department of Tourism and
caused the policy unqualified for tourism business license application or renewal, it is currently under discussion
               for an amendment.

               2. Designing Insurance for Foreign Tourists
As a consequence of a Cabinet’s resolution which assigned Ministry of Tourism and Sports and Ministry
of Finance to consider a protective measure for in-bound tourists to promote a sustainable growth of tourism
business, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports invited representatives from the Department of Tourism, the Fiscal
Policy Office, the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), the Thai General Insurance Association, and the Thai
Life Assurance Association to a meeting. It was preliminary agreed to have an insurance for foreign tourists
in accordance with the Remedies for Foreign Tourists Fund Management Committee’s Rules on Prescribed
Rules, Regulations, and Criteria for Payments of the Remedies for Foreign Tourists Fund B.E. 2558. At present,
the Committee is in the process of developing the policy, designing underwriting and claim management
procedures, and surveying interest of member companies who prefer to write this business.

               3. Personal Accident and Health Insurance for British Citizens Residing in Thailand
The British Embassy Bangkok came, on October 7, 2015, to discuss with representatives of the Committee
regarding health insurance needs of British citizens residing in Thailand, proposing to have health insurance
covers designed and available for different groups, i.e., in-bound British tourists, British citizens residing in
Thailand (for both having insurance as a part of employment contracts and not having insurance, i.e., teachers,
volunteers, and who stayed with Thai families), and senior British citizens focusing on a group of 70 years old
and above, who were retired and resided in Thailand. So that, the Committee has prepared a Health Insurance
policy in English and coverage plans to be presented to the British Embassy Bangkok, and next, will survey
which member companies are interested to write this business.

               4. Academic Data of Personal Accident and Health Insurance Having Periods of
               Insurance Greater Than 1 Year
The Committee has made a set of academic data of personal accident and health insurance having
periods of insurance greater than 1 year for a purpose of disseminating data, knowledge, and details relating
to the personal accident and health insurance having periods of insurance greater than 1 year. The personal
accident and health insurance are widely known and popular among people. Therefore, insurance companies
are competing to launch new products and find new distribution channels to serve needs of consumers by
issuing long-term policies, having periods of insurance greater than 1 year, which provide extended benefits to
insureds from a single purchase at lower premiums rates. On the companies’ side, the cost of retaining renewals
               also decrease.
